Collection: Virginia King

Virginia King’s vessel forms are a metaphor for life and survival.  

These works raise the urgency of conservation issues, the fragility of our environment and the global need for stewardship and protection of the natural world. 

Major commissions include: 'Willinga Plume', 2013, at Canberra Airport ; 'Reed Vessel', 2004, Melbourne’s Docklands and 'Heart of Oak', 2014, commissioned by Sir Miles Warren is suspended in the Ohinetahi Gardens, Governors Bay.   

At Sculpture On the Gulf on Waiheke Island Virginia’s works have received four People's Choice Awards: 'Phantom Fleet' in 2017, 'Pacific Radiolaria' 2011, 'Nautilus Whispers' 2007 and 'Matiatia Frond' 2003.
