How will my artwork purchase support Women’s Refuge New Zealand?
NZ Sculpture OnShore raises funds for Women’s Refuge New Zealand by taking a commission on every artwork sold. The balance of the purchase price goes to the artist, so when you buy a work you are not only supporting Women’s Refuge NZ, but also supporting New Zealand artists.
How can I purchase artwork?
In 2025 there are two ways that you can buy artwork. The first is to come along to the exhibition and if you see a work you like you should make contact with a member of the art sales team who are located in the gallery. They will assist you with your purchase.
The second way to buy if you are unable to attend the exhibition is to peruse the outdoor exhibits on the website and, if you find a work you like, you can buy it online and pay via a credit card or direct debit. Pick up of the artwork is the buyer’s responsibility and at the buyer's expense. Once payment has been received, the art sales team will contact you to introduce you to the artist and take you through your pick up and delivery options.
What can I do if a work I like is showing as ‘sold’?
If you are interested in buying a work that is showing on the website or at the exhibition as ‘sold’, please contact the art sales team as in some cases the artist either has other editions of the work available or will undertake a commission.
Full payment is taken for all commissioned works. These funds will be held by NZ Sculpture OnShore pending satisfactory delivery of the commissioned work.
When can I pick up my purchased artwork ?
Your sculpture will remain onsite for the duration of the exhibition for visitors to view. Once paid for it will have a sold sign put on the sculpture and it will show as 'sold out' online.
Works that have been paid for MUST be picked up from the exhibition site at Fort Takapuna on Monday 20th or Tuesday 21st November 2023 between 10am - 4pm. Buyers can either arrange to collect the work themselves, or liaise with the artist who in some cases will deliver and install the work, at the buyer’s expense.
If the buyer or artist are unable to collect the work then a specialist courier or transport company can be engaged to collect and deliver the work. The art sales team will be available to discuss your delivery options prior to 20th November 2023.
What happens if my sculpture is lost or damaged in transit?
Please note all freight and packaging costs are the responsibility of the buyer and that once works have left the exhibition site they are not covered by the NZ Sculpture OnShore insurance policy. Buyers will need to arrange their own insurance cover.
How much will a freight company charge to deliver my art work?
The business of transporting art works necessitates a case by case analysis depending on the size, the medium and the destination for the work. If you are unable to collect the work yourself we recommend that you talk to the art sales team so that they can liaise with the artist or recommend a specialist courier company to supply a quote. All delivery costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
contact the art sales team by sending an email to artsales@nzsculptureonshore.co.nz
What happens if my purchased artwork is not picked up on the designated days?
The exhibition site reverts to being open to the general public on Wednesday 26th November and there is no site security or insurance cover from that date.
NZ Sculpture OnShore cannot take any responsibility for works left on site after this date, so make sure you pick up your artwork, or alternatively contact us to get it shipped to you.
Can I view my sculpture onsite?
You may visit the exhibition to view your sculpture at any time during opening hours, just show your receipt at the gate.
Where can I find out more information about an artist / sculpture?
Information about artists and sculptures can be found in our catalogue and on the website. If you have purchased an artwork the sales team will put you in contact with the artist so you can contact them direct.
How many editions, versions are there of each sculpture?/ Is my sculpture an original?
All sculptures are original works unless stated to be an edition.
What if I change my mind after making payment for a sculpture or after I have received it?
