Collection: Simon & Sarah Peacey
Simon and Sarah create distinctive art pieces and sculpture from New Zealand wood and beeswax. After 21 years of commercial beekeeping, damaged backs prompted them to move into working with wood and wax. Along the way, they discovered the joy of creating artistic pieces. They love to take the shapes from nature and translate these into beautiful designs.
Collaborating together has enabled them to create more complex wooden sculptures with eye-catching colour from the wax. Collaborating has also challenged them both to push their technical skills and conceptual ideas beyond their individual artistic practices.
Their sculpture 'ai Tokerau Totara; Going Full Circle' was unveiled in September 2024 as part of the Hundertwasser Art Centre Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition in Whangarei. They had a sculpture 'Beeswax Windows' exhibited at the 2025 Sculpture Northland Exhibition.
Simon and Sarah live and work next to the Wairua River, west of Whangarei.
