Collection: Robyn Webster
Robyn is a multi disciplinary artist based in Christchurch. Her work examines the human condition in relation to the environment, particularly plants, to other people, and to the self. Her practice is fueled by a constant shifting between two and three dimensions, each informing the other.
In her recent sculptural work she has utilised finger weaving techniques in harakeke (NZ flax), held rigid by resins, then cast into bronze. In this way she references the natural world, ancient feminine production practices and the tension between rigidity and flexibility, line and form, ephemerality and virtual eternity.
