Collection: Lisa Watkins
Lisa is a West Auckland-based sustainability artist. Under the name MyShinyMadness, her bold practice is raw, reflective and unapologetically shiny - a vibrant response to the chaos of modern life. She transforms found and donated materials into layered assemblages that blend sculpture, mixed media and social commentary.
Her upcycled materials - from VHS tapes and nail polish bottles, to toys and CDs - are chosen for texture, colour and emotional weight. Lisa explores themes of eco-feminism, resilience, identity and consumerism, all with a dose of humour and nostalgic grit.
Lisa’s career spans head chef, DJing and cake design before art reignited her creative fire. Since 2023, she’s won First Place at the Waitākere Arts Awards, the Localised Sustainability Award and a scholarship to The Learning Connexion.
From sculpting to photographing and print design, her practice is fiercely hands-on - transforming cast-offs into artworks that demand attention and inspire change.
