Collection: Judith Le Harivel
Judith has always been a maker, with a lifelong love of 3D and textiles. While following careers as an architect and public servant, she continued to work with textiles. Later in life she returned to creative study and discovered the joy of sculpting with ceramics, glass and other media. She enjoys using different media to bring alternative perspectives to her work.
Another passion is working in the wild, organic garden Judith and John have created. Not surprisingly, natural and organic forms influence her work. She strives to create well-executed, thoughtful and, at times, quirky and emotive artwork.
For around 10 years Judith has made cast glass in her home studio on the Kapiti Coast. Every so often she needs to make something big, usually in concrete! Collaborator John, architect, avid recycler and maker didn’t need much persuasion to make the bench and to assist with her biggest concrete sculpture so far.
