Collection: John Ferguson

John's practice offers a meditation on the human forms that can be found in everyday objects and nature. His recent body of work utilises found or pre-made objects and repurposesi them to create natural elements like flowers and nests.

Notable works include:
'Blooming Buckets', a 5m tall dandelion, on permanent display at Sculptureum, Matakana.
'Fallen', a composite stone sculpture of a fallen poppy private collection Silverdale.
'Khulu', a 5m tall foxglove sculpture, private collection Windwhistle.
'Breathe', a 5m tall steel sculpture resembling both a canopy of branches and the anatomy of our lungs, Auckland Botanic Gardens, Manurewa.

John has also designed and built three artistic balustrades for public bridges on the North Shore and the outdoor reading area at the Browns Bay Library.

John and his wife live in the Karangahake Gorge.
