Collection: Jeff Thomson
Jeff Thomson was born in Castor Bay, Auckland, New Zealand in 1957.
He has worked predominantly with corrugated iron since he became a full time sculptor in 1986.
In 1995, Thomson was awarded the Frances Hodgkins Fellowship at the University of Otago, Dunedin and in 2000 he was the Tylee Cottage Artist in Residence in Wanganui.
In 2013, The Tauranga Art Gallery instigated a nationally touring survey exhibition of Thomson’s work with the book “Corrugations- The Art of Jeff Thomson" published to coincide with the exhibition documenting Jeff’s art practice over the decades.
Ten of his sculptures are part of Allan Gibbs' Sculpture Park, Kaipara Coast, Makarau.
