Collection: Fiona Garlick
Fiona lives in Arrowtown, Otago where she has an open studio and gallery. She is practicing full-time as a sculptor, predominantly in cast bronze. Her work is mainly concerned with the environment, referencing the postcolonial landscape and the tensions between introduced and native species of flora and fauna within New Zealand.
Fiona is passionate about sculpture being a public experience and has exhibited in many outdoor sculpture shows including Stoneleigh Sculpture in the Gardens, Tai Tapu Autumn Exhibition and Brick Bay Sculpture Trail. She is represented in Auckland by Artis Gallery.
Fiona’s previous career was in documentary production, which means story and rigorous research are often an important aspect to her work.
