Collection: Fiona Garlick
Fiona Garlick lives in Arrowtown, Otago where she has an open studio and gallery.
She is practicing full-time as a sculptor, predominantly in cast bronze.
Her work is mainly concerned with the environment, referencing the postcolonial landscape and the tensions between introduced and native species of flora and fauna within New Zealand.
Fiona is passionate about sculpture being a public experience and has exhibited in many outdoor sculpture shows including Stoneleigh Sculpture in the Gardens, and Brick Bay Sculpture Trail. She has recently had an exhibition with Aroha Gossage at Artis Gallery.
Fiona’s previous career was in documentary production, which means story and rigorous research are often an important aspect to her work.
