Collection: Clovis Viscoe
Clovis has received sculpture awards from both the Corbans Estate Art Trust ‘Huia’ and the Kaipara Art Award ‘The Honey Eater’.
Ancient Kauri has been his favoured medium - the quality of wood, imbued with grained nuances that when stained and waxed bring a rich luster. His father, Warren Viscoe, is one of New Zealand’s most prominent sculptors and played a pivotal role as mentor, helping guide and facilitate his successful art career.
His sculptures have been exhibited at the Auckland Botanic Gardens, NZ Sculpture OnShore and Art By The Sea. In his latest mosaic sculpture, the pop of coloured kaleidoscope tiles has given the artist more leverage at his disposable, as a durable plaster and tile medium in the outdoor arena.
