Collection: Cary Spencer
Cary Spencer has always had a love for creating with her hands – often found as a child whittling wood, shells or stone. She creates small to medium scale sculptures with a variety of different mediums, from stone and copper to clay and NZ swamp Kauri. The themes in her sculptures are often based on natural forms, drawing on nature’s elements.
Her values in environmental conservation and life lessons often emerge through the sculptural forms. Cary’s artistic journey took her to the islands of Greece, where she studied marble stone carving. She then moved to other mediums as she travelled and studied under a variety of experienced sculptors and artists in NZ and abroad.
