Collection: Amanda Mackenzie

Amanda is a New Zealand artist currently based in China who explores and transforms overlooked materials. With a background in ceramics, furniture design, and a recent MFA, she challenges the boundaries between utility and art. Using labour-intensive techniques like brazing and paper making, Amanda reimagines humble materials such as wire hangers and used cloth. These processes reveal the performative qualities of materials.

Recent exhibitions include a solo show at RM gallery, a joint exhibition at Studio One Toi Tū, and finalist selection in the 2025 Molly Morpeth Canaday Awards.
