Anna Korver

What inspires your art practice?
My work has a strong feminine narrative inspired by my own experiences. I am inspired by my travels working in different parts of the world, reflecting on the differences and similarities between people and how this extends to the way we define home.

What materials do you work in?
Wood, hardstone, steel, stainless steel, bronze, ceramics, glass, mixed media

Describe your artwork for NZ Sculpture OnShore 2021
This series of abstract figurative works use the form of a dress to connect the figure to architectural forms discussing this connection of people to the place they live. The dress itself is subtle in the faceting, giving a greater contrast to the harsh architectural plinth.

Where are the public most likely to see your artworks outside of NZSOS?
Brick Bay, Art by the Sea, Black Door Gallery, Form Gallery, Zimmerman Gallery, various public locations

Where did you study?
Ilam, The University of Canterbury Fine Arts
