What inspires your art practice?
I am inspired from a life surrounded by artists and my art practice is influenced by my architectural background. I create through a number of multidisciplinary practices, which all influence one another. Key ideas I explore throughout my work are about balance and presenting the solidity or weightlessness of materiality through gestures of stacking forms.
What materials do you work in?
Timber and Glass are my chosen materials to work with.
Describe your artwork for NZ Sculpture OnShore 2021
The form takes place within the world of imbalance. This is an object that appears perfect from a distance, but when studied closely the form veers in one direction and is not evenly created from point to point. Balance is created on either side of the line of perfection and imbalance.
