Didi Chapman

What inspires your art practice?
I believe in the beauty of handmade objects. Clay is a living material having energy, texture and temperature. Pottery is an activity that allows me to thoroughly enjoy getting dirty and reconnect with Mother Earth.

What materials do you work in?
Stoneware, earthenware and porcelain clay

Describe your artwork for NZ Sculpture OnShore 2021
I wish to create a connection between my sculptures and the viewer, giving them a Quirky smile as they explore the nature of abstraction, representation and beauty.

Where are the public most likely to see your artworks outside of NZSOS?
In my Quirky Pottery Studio in Taupo.
